What are Smart Hands services in Germany?

Smart Hands services are skilled onsite technicians who perform physical IT work in a data center or server room for a team that isn’t there. Companies with infrastructure in Germany use Smart Hands when their engineers are abroad or in another city, and hardware needs installing, replacing, cabling or inspecting.

ITDW Group combines Smart Hands in Germany with hardware procurement and international shipping, so equipment can be sourced, delivered to a German facility and installed by one partner.

  • You register ITDW technicians with the facility or approve visits through the colocation portal.
  • Technicians follow each facility’s identification, escort, photo and delivery rules.

Shipping hardware into Germany

Equipment shipped into Germany from outside the EU must clear EU customs, and the importer needs an EU EORI number; import VAT is due on entry. Equipment moving from another EU country travels without customs checks but still needs proper paperwork.
